SEE Venues respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have under the United Arab Emirates Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and applicable free-zone regulations.

Who we are

SEE Venues is the immersive events programme of SEE Institute, operating from The Sustainable City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For privacy queries, contact us at events@seeinstitute.ae.

What we collect

• Enquiry details you submit via our forms — name, email, phone, company, event type, guest count, preferred space, preferred date, and any message.
• Analytics via PostHog (subject to your consent): anonymised page views, scroll depth, click events, traffic source (referrer + UTM tags), and device characteristics.
• Session insights via PostHog session replay (subject to your consent): privacy-masked playback of how visitors navigate. All typed inputs are masked at source — we never see passwords, names, emails, or anything you type into a form.
• Marketing attribution (subject to your consent): click identifiers (gclid, fbclid, msclkid, ttclid, li_fat_id, wbraid, gbraid, epik) and UTM tags carried in the URL when you arrive from an ad or campaign.

Why we collect it

• To respond to your enquiry and operate our booking process.
• To measure which channels and campaigns bring guests to SEE Venues.
• To improve the site and the spaces we offer.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use your information for automated decision-making with legal effects.

Your consent

On your first visit, a banner asks whether we may enable analytics and session insights. The default is off until you choose. Strictly necessary cookies (used to make the site work and protect against abuse) are always on.

You can change your choice anytime via Privacy preferences in the footer, or by clearing your browser storage for this site. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred while consent was active.

Who we share with

• Odoo — our customer relationship system. Receives the contents of your enquiry so our events team can respond.
• PostHog (US region) — analytics and session insights processor, only when you have granted consent. PostHog acts as a data processor on our behalf.
• Resend — email delivery for enquiry notifications to our internal team in the rare case Odoo is unavailable.

How long we keep it

Enquiry records are retained for as long as we have a legitimate business reason to follow up, plus the period required by UAE accounting and tax obligations. Analytics records are retained for up to 24 months. Session replays are retained for up to 30 days. You may request deletion at any time.

Your rights under UAE PDPL

• Right to be informed about how your data is processed.
• Right to access the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure of your personal data.
• Right to restrict or object to processing.
• Right to data portability where technically feasible.
• Right to withdraw consent at any time.
• Right to lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office.

International transfers

PostHog is hosted in the United States. Where personal data leaves the UAE, we rely on the appropriate safeguards permitted under the UAE PDPL, including standard contractual clauses and the data processor's own privacy programme.

Updates

If we update this policy materially, we will reset the consent banner so you have a fresh opportunity to review your preferences. Last updated: 1 May 2026.
